SHOUT OUT!!

I *FINALLY* have a picture with Mom and Dad #2 that I can share on my blog so this shout out goes to two of my favorite people, Dave and Karen.  I love and appreciate them more than they'll ever know.  They are just so dang awesome to me!

Hello 2014 ...

 Hello 2014 ... It's a New Year.
A New Beginning.
New Adventures.
New Friends.
New Everything!

I started my morning off by spending just a little time with some of my friends to make a coffee run to Caribou Coffee in Willmar.  This is the VERY first time I've ever stepped foot in one.  The main reason ... I'm not a coffee drinker.  :)  Here's the crew ... me, Brooke, Juele, Chloe, Lisa and Liz!

My very first cup of anything purchased at Caribou Coffee.  It's not java ... but it is a Hot White Chocolate.  It was piping hot yet very delicious once I could finally drink it.

Another goal I have for the New Year is to get back on the treadmill.  I fell off the fitness wagon during the summer.  The main reason why was because Hayden no longer took naps and that was my typical time to go walk.  I'm back at it, and Brea is holding me accountable ... just like I'm holding her accountable.  We're in this together!

{ wishing you unlimited blessings in 2014 }

{ one little word } ... 2014

For the past several years I've been participating in a one little word challenge.  You choose a word to help you throughout the year.  In previous years my words were:
2008 ... shine
2009 ... journey
2010 ... bliss
2011 ... create
2012 ... story
2013 ... embrace

and now my {one little word} for 2014 is ...

Here's to a year full of { simplicity } !!

Ride 'Em Cowboy!

Quite a while back Hayden got this rocking horse from Dave and Ardella (Scott's aunt and uncle).  We had it hidden downstairs because he was too small to reach the foot pegs AND he thought it would be funny to pull out the yarn that makes up the hair.  We finally brought it back upstairs for him to play on.  We love that Dave put so much work into the horse and created a wonderful thing for Hayden to play on.  Yee haw!!

What's Your Fortune?

Tonight we had Chinese food so we dug out the fortune cookies to eat after the meal.  Since they were going bad and would need to be thrown out, we decided to open all of them that were left.  I love how all of them could come true!  We were also grateful that Brea got the one she did and no one else got it.  There might have been a little argument over that one.  :)

Brea's Tennis Banquet

We went to Peace Lutheran Church to join all the tennis players to celebrate the 2013 season!

 Great cake!

All the girls in their sombreros with their coaches.

Louise ... Taylor ... Brea ~ the 10th grade girls!

We are so very proud of Brea!

Seriously?

So last night was Halloween.  When we came home I put Hayden's treat bag on the top of the fridge thinking that there is no way he could get it.  Boy, was I wrong!  I heard his door open up and waited to get a text from Brea telling me that he was with her (she didn't have school because of a teacher inservice day).  No text.  Hmmmm ... I began to wonder!  I sent her a text asking if he was with her.  No was the reply.  CRAP!  I just had a funny feeling that he was going after his candy somehow.  I quick grabbed my phone, just in case there was something picture-worthy taking place (gotta love being a scrapbooker) ... and I came down into the kitchen to see this ...

He had moved his fire truck under the fridge, climbed on it and into the fridge, reaching for his bag on the top of it!  SERIOUSLY?!  Are you kidding me right now?  What are we going to do with this kid?

I asked him, "What are you doing?" and without skipping a beat he just turned to me and said, "getting my candy!"  Unbelievable!

Later during the day Brea and I ran some errands in town.  The first stop was Subway so I could get my usual ... 6" Roasted Chicken on any bread, not toasted, American Cheese, spinach, pickles, black olives, two swipes of mayo and three swipes of sweet onion sauce.  I make it a meal with either Cool Ranch Doritos or Salt & Vinegar chips.  I have to have my Mello Yellow with it too!  so good!

Tonight we went to a beer tasting party at my friend, Liv and Ryan's house.  They are starting their own brewery so they have their friends try different concoctions they create to see if they are worthy of being in their establishment.  Loved spending time with my girls Liv, Liz and Lisa.  I guess being an S name I'm the odd girl out.  Hee hee!
